Syllabus --LATIN I/MYTHOLOGY

COURSE OBJECTIVES: The objectives of this course are to introduce the fundamental of Latin grammar, to develop a large vocabulary in Latin and to expand one’s English vocabulary through the study of Latin roots, to acquire translation proficiency for simple Latin texts, and to introduce basics aspects of Latin mythology and history.
GRADING:
TESTS: 15 per semester @at 40 points each 70%
SEATWORK: 1 per week @10 points each 15%
HOMEWORK: 3 per week at 3 pints each 15%
EXTRA CREDT: This is granted only at the discretion of the instructor and is never given to cover
Missed homework assignments.
Students should keep all assignments and tests in their notebooks until the end of the semester. Further, students who would like to consult me about a grade must do so before or after class.
