1. What classifier hand shapes are used as pronouns?

Activating Thinking Strategies:

(ex: kwl, word maps, wordsplash, etc…)

Day 1

Respond to: List what classifiers you know.

 

Acceleration Strategies:

(focus on content maps and key vocabulary)

Day 1

Using text book & overhead, student models vocabulary for students to copy.

Teaching Strategies:

(graphic organizers)

Day 1

Using text book, overhead, and teacher as models, students will copy and acquire new vocabulary.

Prompts:

(distributed practice and distributed summarizing)

Day 2

Using Student Guide, students take turns presenting assigned sentences.

Summarizing Strategies:

(ex. Ticket Out the Door, 3-2-1, etc…Answer the essential question)

Day 2

Respond to EQ on next day.

Extending/Refining Activity:

(thinking skills and/or writing prompts)

Day 3

Students work alone or with a partner to create a monologue or dialogue.

Dialogue presentations.

Teacher provides corrective feedback to students after in class presentations.

 

Differentiated Instruction:

Days 1-5

Student from Employment Prep program receives extra time, one-on-one assistance from teacher, and/or peer tutoring.

Students with visual problems are given preferential seating or hard copy of items placed on hand out.

Students with IEP’s will receive classroom modifications as delineated in their IEP’s.
