Terrors advance in playoffs
Hosting their first home playoff game since 2005, the Glynn Academy Red Terrors (8-3) advanced to the second round with a 26-14 win over Jones County on Friday at Glynn County Stadium. The Terrors - the No. 2 seed in Region 3-AAAAA - will travel to face Whitewater, the No. 1 seed in Region 4-AAAAA, on Friday, Nov. 23. Behind another strong performance by senior running back Jonathan Alford, who rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns, the Terrors earned their second playoff victory under coach Rob Ridings. Ridings' first victory came in 2010 at Lovejoy. After falling to Coffee County in the first game of the season, Whitewater has reeled off 10 victories in a row. The Wildcats mauled Lee County 49-7 in the first round of the playoffs. Whitewater is located in Fayetteville, Ga., just south of Atlanta.
