Library Media Center Policies and Procedures

We hope you want to spend many productive hours in our Library Media Center. The intent of this guide is to help you use our resources more efficiently and to introduce you to the many resources that we have to offer. There are many different reasons that our patrons use our facility and we want to respect everyone's rights to be able to complete the task that they are there for.

Please find one of our staff whenever you need assistance. We are ready to help with research, to answer any question (no matter how small) and to provide you with information about anything you might be interested in reading or looking up on the computer. We hope you visit often to explore, inquire, discover and enjoy!

We try not to have too many rules, but there are a few things to keep in mind while you are in the Media Center.

  • Try using a quiet voice so you will not disturb others.
  • Please do not check out a book for a friend. If you choose to do this the book is your responsibility.
  • Return all materials you do not want to the correct shelf or bring to the desk to be reshelved. Be sure to return books to the book return box when finished. This is the only safe place to make sure the book gets checked in out of your name.
  • When using a computer ALWAYS LOG-OFF before leaving the machine. Don't leave your files open so that others can go online under your name or get to work you have saved.
  • Computers can ONLY be used for school assignments.

***Remember ALL SCHOOL RULES apply when you are in our Media Center! Cell phones, iPods (or any type of listening device) will be taken up if you get them out while in the Media Center. No hats or head coverings are allowed ***
